Lauri

On November 3, 1997, Lauri Jakkila and North Korean Ambassador Ri appeared on Finnish television news broadcasts. The North Korean leadership had asked Lauri Jakkila, the executive director of the Via Dolorosa Crusade, to convey a plea for help to all Christians in the world to come and help North Korea in its famine. The news spread quickly around the world. The media followed with interest the historic aid trip of this ordinary Finnish man of the street to the closed North Korea. At the time, few people actually knew who Lauri Jakkila was and where he came from. The path of a Finnish alcoholic from the trash can of the alleyway to the company of presidents is a story worth a book. Without the numerous documents and eyewitness accounts, hardly anyone would believe it.

Do you love me

From its very beginning, the story of Tapani Suonto has been a conforting read for someone whose life has not been a bed of roses. Its first lines already draw you into the midst of life's tragedy. This is how the story begins:

The windows were made of armored glass. They were full of deep scratches. Someone had tried to jump through them. The window opened up to a view of Helsinki, bathed in a sea of light.

The city lights twinkled happily against the darkening sky on a summer night. In the distance, amusement park Linnanmäki was visible: a roller coaster and a Ferris wheel. I stood by the window silently. I wanted to cry, but I couldn't. I also wanted to live, sit on a roller coaster with my friends and laugh, but there was armored glass in between. It was 1972 and I was 18 years old.

Will You Lead Me

The birth of the One Way Mission and its explosive growth have been followed with great interest throughout Finland and elsewhere in the world for 35 years. At the same time, the travels and activities of evangelist and Bible teacher Tapani Suonto in different parts of the world have been under scrutiny. It has all aroused much wonder and curiosity.

In this book, many questions are answered, as the second part of Tapani's autobiography takes readers to distant mission fields and behind the scenes. It sheds light on important moments and provides background to how the work has grown and also on Tapani’s personal life.

Tapani's story is sensitive and personal. Along the way, there are many successes and moments of joy. But there are also difficult decisions, illness and attempts by opponents to discourage and undermine One Way and especially Tapani's work and position.

Will You Lead Me? is an adventure that shows the power of God's blessings and occasionally hears the desperate cry of the enemy. It is a grace to sail the path God has marked out, and it is encouraging to read what it is like to sail such waters. The journey may be unpredictable, but not unsafe, for the all-knowing God is at the helm.

Preparing for God's Use

Tapani Suonto has been an evangelist and Bible teacher since 1975. During this time, he has trained hundreds of people for voluntary spiritual work and helped them find their own mission and place in life.

Tapani's teaching comes from strong personal experience. He applies the word of the Bible in a very practical way to everyday life. He also uses many well-chosen examples as a teaching and often as a warning to readers. The teaching is sober and very Bible-based, and as such it provides answers to many questions that people have in mind.

Preparing for God's Use deals with guidance, hearing God's voice, finding a calling, facing temptations, the essence of faith, etc. It is intended for people who want to see God at work in their lives.

How to Recognize Deception

The Christian church is going through a difficult time today. People may ask in confusion: “How can I know which teaching is sound and which is deception? Which preacher is sent by God and which is not?”

For decades, Tapani Suonto has helped people who have fallen into various deceptions and listened to their anxieties. This practical teaching book was created based on these experiences. The book gives advice and tools to the reader so that he can examine and test the teachings of our time for himself and understand their truthfulness and biblical validity.

At the same time, the author provides answers to why people go astray. What causes large crowds to follow foreign Christs in the end times despite Jesus ’warnings?

Chapters 9 and 10 of the book touch on topics that Tapani Suonto has also discussed in his book Be of a Safe Mind.

It happened on a Friday

In September 1983, the Friday for Christ evangelism campaign began in Helsinki. From the very first meters, it attracted a lot of attention, also in the official media. Many expected it to end in just a few months, but it turned out differently. It grew so much that not everyone could even sit in the churches, and eventually the activity that started on the streets of Helsinki grew into an international missionary organization operating on three different continents.

Usually we read about what is happening in other parts of the world. This book is different, it tells about what happened in our own country. It tells about the early days of the Friday for Christ work and what it was like at the grassroots level and how it affected people's destinies. The book can rightly be considered a review of the harrowing reality of Christian street work.

A VISION

This inspiring book is necessary reading for every Christian who longs to be part of a victorious church. It is also necessary for all pastors and leaders in churches.

The teaching in this book is not based on theories adopted from others, but on decades of experience in spiritual work both in Finland and in mission fields.

From the Wilderness to Life

Spiritual wildernesses are familiar to almost every Christian. Throughout history, the wilderness has been a place where God trains and tests His servants. A wilderness journey can be a source of blessing and renewal.

One can also find oneself in the wilderness against God’s will. “From the Wilderness to Life” is a book for those lost in the wilderness. Its message is drawn from Tapani’s own experiences and his many teachings. It is a refreshing and invigorating read for those struggling in various spiritual wildernesses.

Be of a Safe Mind

Over the years, I have received many requests for help from people in great distress. Their distress is not due to the wounds caused by this world, but to the brokenness caused by various unbridled demonic teachings that have infiltrated their churches. Where have we gone wrong when churches whose mission is to proclaim the gospel – the good news – are driving people to the brink of suicide?

“Be of a Safe Mind” is an easy-to-understand and personal book that guides the reader to the safe foundation of the Bible and helps them understand where the various delusions of our time arise from.

Preparing for God's Use 2

"Preparing for God's Use 2" is a sequel to the first part of the same name by Tapani Suonto. The message of the book is very comforting and creates faith and hope. It also boldly takes a stand on today's intemperate mindset and helps to understand it. The book helps to find a deeper connection with God and His grace, a God, who has all the answers even in the midst of difficulties. Therefore, the book is equally suitable for those who have just converted to faith as for those who have served God for a long time. It prepares readers to be "vessels for noble use".
